People approach me all the time with stories they’d like to see written, and I always encourage them to haul out a pencil, find a kitchen table, and start writing it themselves. We’re all storytellers, every single one of us, all day long, even at night in our dreams. Writing is just a matter of degree.
Often people think I’m kidding. Them, write? They think writing is some god given skill or the product of a freak gene. It’s not. Writing comes out of the lives we lead – and hard work - and our tribal love for the word. It’s that simple.
In that spirit, toward sharing where a few of my books came from, here’s the inside scoop on a few of my books…some stories and pictures to show what feeds the rat.
